The fashion advice about big thighs is completely backwards. As someone with substantial thighs myself, I’ve learned that the key isn’t hiding anything. It’s about choosing fits that work with your natural shape instead of fighting against it.
Styling Tips
Choose high-waisted bottoms over low-rise — this changes everything about how your proportions look. Add a well-fitted blazer on top for instant polish and structure.
Balance your silhouette with fitted tops when wearing wider bottoms. If you’re wearing straight-leg jeans, a tucked sweater creates the right proportions.
The golden ratio in fashion proportions suggests that the most visually pleasing silhouettes divide the body roughly into thirds — which is why high-waisted bottoms work so well for creating balanced proportions.
Dos & Don’ts
Best Outfits For Women With Big Thighs
Leather Jacket with Bodycon Skirt
A black leather jacket paired with a taupe bodycon skirt and black over-the-knee boots creates a balanced silhouette. The structured jacket shoulders draw attention upward while the fitted skirt celebrates your natural curves.

White Turtleneck with Plaid Pencil Skirt
A white turtleneck tucked into a high-waisted pencil skirt creates a defined silhouette. This combination is professional yet feminine, perfect for office or dinner dates.

Orange Ribbed Top with Straight-Leg Jeans
A textured orange top paired with dark straight-leg jeans and brown ankle boots shows how texture and color on top can balance out wider thighs. The straight-leg jean is forgiving through the thigh while still looking polished.

Key takeaways
- Choose high-waisted bottoms to create a longer leg line and smooth silhouette
- Opt for wrap tops and soft draping instead of fitted shirts that might pull
- Select straight-leg or wide-leg pants over skinny styles for better proportion and comfort
- Layer with longer blazers and cardigans that hit at hip level to create vertical lines

None of the girls in those pictures have big thighs. And the idea isn’t to shame yourself into hiding them but feeling good about showing them off
I think you need chics with big thighs to model these outfits not skinny girls
I AGREE!!!!! Super lame.
agree

Yes I totally agree. I have bigger thighs. I don’t have a thigh gap. I have a small waist and I’m a teen. I need reliable sources. Not only is this article filled with unrelated images it makes many others feel bad about themselves. When we say”big thighs” we don’t mean plus size. Come on and get it right!
I was thinking this same thing. Glad everyone else agreed.
Exactly. They should have actually had people with big thighs
Idk. In my personally opinion I feel like it helped. I feel like I have big thighs, but those women all had bigger thighs than me. Now I feel like i can switch up my wardrobe a little bit. And yeah I don’t think it should be about hiding them, but these are some good ideas.
Sorry to have disappointed you. We have asked the writer to update the article as per your comments.

Unbelievable! Not one thick woman on here….
Honestly… Smh
This is bull, where are the actual *big thighs*
The idea is not to be fat and feel happy about that. The Right thing is to be fit from your body and soul.People who tears down other’s confidence was the weakest people themselves. But if you loose your confidence by listening to them. You are more a coward. Do not appreciate yourself to be fat. It is not healthy at all. Fat people tend to have the least immunity to lots of disease and illness.
I totally support this one. As i dont think looking for some items which suits you is not at all going down.. It is just about looking good.
Thank you for your feedback, keep visiting 🙂

not an outfit in here that is falttering…Yuck and disgusting
Modesty people!!
Need outfits for short lady’s that are 200# with Big legs and calf’s We do not need skinny jeans and tight ankle pants. I know darker pants that are not so tight you can’t move. And we need cute tops to match not wild flowers to make us look bigger yet and we need 3/4 sleeves to cover our flapping arms. The trick is finding them!
Hey there,

Same here but some of it helped
No big thighs here! We need real help, not these models whose thighs are appropriate to their body sizes. I am a regular size woman who has abnormally large thighs. No one understands!
Hi Cher,
Our writers did their best to only include women and influencers with big thighs in this article. You’ll notice that while some women in the article are plus size, there are many regular or even small size women with big thighs. I’m sure you’ll find the tips helpful if you give them a try 🙂

None of these women had my Pear shapes body. Short with very small top and from waist down, we have a stomach, a huge butt and thunder thighs. Show me how to dress that kind of body! Not this stupid crap you posted and called it meeting what the public was looking for when they googled saddlebags, and how to dress to look good. POOR RATING ZERO STARS
Hi Karen,
I’m sorry to hear that the article did not match your expectations. We’ve just updated it to include some tips and outfits that are specifically for pear shaped ladies. I hope you’ll find it helpful.

this article was more about hiding your figure IMO. I have huge muscular thighs – genetically and ok with me. Was not looking to hide them but to compliment my figure.
Hey there, sorry it wasn’t up to your expectations. We try to cater to all types of tastes as based on our comments, many women wanted outfit ideas that will help highlight their best body parts instead of the thighs. But I understand your point too and we’ll try to edit this post to include the kind of ideas that you mentioned.
Kind regards,
Team Outfit Trends.
I agree. I would not depend on this source for advice. Don’t have a clue. Also, wide legged slacks make short people with thick legs and hips look bigger. Insulating.
